What to Expect at
Joyful Zen Academy
Welcome to Joyful Zen Academy your new private school in Burbank! We are excited that your child is ready for Primary School! We welcome you and your joyful kiddo to a year of achievement in areas of Language, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, Mindfulness, Philanthropy, Entrepreneurship, group projects, movement activities and more.
At Joyful Zen Academy we are introducing a curriculum of high-level academics with eco-literacy, and mindfulness. We will continue having a beautiful mixed aged group of students ranging in age where much like a Montessori classroom younger students will get to share their gifts and talents and vice versa. Mirroring very much how our society works in its diversity. This in turn gives the opportunity for older friends to polish up on their mentorship abilities as well as the subject at hand while helping younger friends to advance on their skills and development.
Our Curriculum
Daily attendance will be recorded for the academic year. Joyful Families who have children 5 years and up in our program this year and who would like to have their children move up grades formally will begin having their attendance recorded for state recognition. As long as your child is present 175 days of the year they will meet the state required days of attendance in order to move up grade levels. At Joyful Zen Academy our winter and summer breaks are shorter. This allows for more flexibility in our families schedules to catch up on any missed days.
